Olympics, Day 15: Images, images…
… just to prove that I have been keeping busy. These games have not been a real streak of victory for Finland — we have gotten two medals, both from sailing and we basically have potential for one, two more tonight in the men’s javelin. I’ve been working in London, so unfortunately no great images from Weymouth.
I have covered e.g. kayak and little bit of track — this morning I did the 50km walk race. The ending was pretty dramatic as the other Finnish competitor Antti Kempas was taken away with a wheelchair after a total collapse on the finishing line.
Anyway, couple of images from the days gone by.
Tero Pitkämäki getting ready for his throw in the qualification of javelin.
Jenni Mikkonen paddles away after qualifying rounds in K1 200m. She did not make it to the final.

Double victory to USA in 200m women.
Jarkko Ala-Huikku about to lose his first and only match in these games. Same happened in Beijing…
Sergey Kirdyapkin wins the 50km walking. Shot with a 800mm…
Antti Kempas of Finland gets transported out of the track in after the finnish in 50km walking race.
Two more days to go…

Super shot of the fellow pouring the water over his head. And very poignant shot of the kayaker Mikkonen all alone having failed to qualify. Nice work, Kari.
Cheers Tim -
nice to see you keep an eye.
