We are Lumi and Saana — and we spend our summers sailing around the Baltic. Typically weeks — sometimes even months in a row.
We come from the same lot which makes as sisters (or twins, if you like).
Lumi means “Snow” in Finnish and Saana refers to a mountain up north. And if you need a rule as how to tell the difference between us, Lumi has this white collar around her.
Kaho is a Hawaiian word we use referring to the person(s) with whom we sail.
It means “guardian” or “primary caretaker” or “protector” – as both we and our Kahos are of the opinion that dogs are not “owned” but equal companions. The term implies a deep, spiritual connection and responsibility for something or someone precious, rather than simple ownership.
